FrontStage BackStage with Jason Daye - Healthy Leadership for Life and Ministry

About this episode

Pastor and author Faith Eury Cho shares how ministry leaders can find freedom from the pressure to be remarkable by trusting the Holy Spirit to work through ordinary faithfulness.

Do you ever feel pressure to be remarkable in ministry? In this week's conversation on FrontStage BackStage, pastor and author Faith Eury Cho joins host Jason Daye to explore the freedom that comes when we realize the Holy Spirit is the remarkable One.

Ministry can quietly create expectations about what it means to be used by God. We can begin to believe our work needs to be impressive, visible, or somehow extraordinary to really matter. But what if faithfulness sometimes looks far more ordinary than we've imagined? And what freedom might we experience if we no longer needed to be noticed or completely understood?

Faith began preaching at nineteen and has spent much of her life learning this firsthand. She is the co-founder and co-pastor of Mosaic Covenant Church and the author of Experiencing Friendship with God and her new book, Unlikely and Anointed. Through her own journey, Faith has discovered that God often works in unexpected ways through ordinary people who are willing to trust the leading and power of the Holy Spirit.

Faith and Jason explore the temptation to make ministry remarkable, the freedom of being unseen, and what happens when following the Holy Spirit leads us somewhere that may not make strategic sense or be easily understood by others.

Together they discuss:

  • Why the desire to do something remarkable for God can quietly become a burden in ministry
  • How Faith learned to embrace the freedom of being unseen rather than needing to be noticed
  • Why the Holy Spirit is the remarkable One and how that changes the way we understand our role in ministry
  • The freedom to be misunderstood when obedience to God does not make sense to everyone around us
  • Why God's leading sometimes challenges what appears strategically wise or predictable
  • How ordinary faithfulness creates space for the Holy Spirit to work in ways we could never manufacture ourselves

If you're a pastor or ministry leader carrying expectations about what your ministry should look like, how much impact you should be making, or whether others recognize what you're doing, this conversation offers a freeing invitation. You don't have to manufacture something remarkable. You can faithfully serve, trust the Holy Spirit to work in ways you may never be able to predict or measure, and rest in knowing that you were never meant to be the remarkable One.
