Stuck in the middle? Looking longingly at the finish line while not enjoying what is in the present moment? This week on Encounter, Caroline sits down with Bishop Emma Ineson a current guest speaker at Lee Abbey and past community member, and talked about her book 'Middling What Jesus Said About Perspective, Being Between Things and Not Yet Knowing stuff'. As a society we often look to the large moments in life, usually the beginning and the end, but what about the middle? On top on that, as Christians we are not yet in the kingdom, but here on Earth. This week David and Caroline sat down with Paul Friend, the director of South West Youth Ministries (SWYM)! SWYM has had a long standing partnership with Lee Abbey, bringing in multiple times a year, groups of passionate youth workers in training. The three of them talk about what community in a church setting really means, authenticity (aka allowing the weird) in churches, and how the newest generation of youth workers has inspired a revival of connection.
