There Will Be Miracles: Amy Antonelli and the Story of HXP
Faith MattersAbout this episode
Each year, thousands of teens travel the world to build classrooms, health centers, and homes alongside local communities, guided by a simple motto: Love God. Love People. Phones stay home, the work is hard, and the projects are built to last. Along the way, many teens find lifelong friends, a deep sense of belonging, and a firsthand experience of Jesus’s gospel of love. Last year alone, participants gave more than 610,000 hours of service across 39 countries.
In this conversation, CEO Amy Antonelli shares her own winding path to HXP, from seven years in India’s leprosy colonies to a dream job at Facebook that ended with an innocent but devastating mistake. We talk about making big decisions when the future feels uncertain, why finding our purpose is something we do again and again, and how we can love our kids into becoming their best selves.
Parents, mark your calendars! HXP registration opens November 30th, and destinations are on the website now. Every trip also needs trip leaders and parent builders, and Amy makes a compelling case that these trips can transform adults too. Find everything at hxp.org.
We hope this conversation leaves you inspired by what’s possible when we put love into action.
