Finding God in Unexpected Places: The Truth Behind Jacob's Ladder (Genesis 28:16)

Today's Bible Verse: "When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, 'Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.'" — Genesis 28:16

Jacob wasn't searching for a spiritual experience when God met him. He was running from the consequences of his own choices, alone in the wilderness, using a stone for a pillow. Yet it was in that ordinary and uncertain place that God revealed Himself through a dream, reminding Jacob that His presence and His promises had never left him.

Genesis 28:16 reminds us that God often meets us in the places we least expect. We may assume we have to be in a church, on a retreat, or at a spiritual high point to encounter Him. But throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself in deserts, prisons, boats, mountains, and quiet moments of everyday life. His presence is not limited by our location or circumstances.
