The world says: It’s my way or the highway.
Jesus says: Blessed are the meek.
The world says: Meekness is weakness.
Jesus says:  Blessed are the humble, the gentle, for they will inherit the earth.
Jesus’ teachings in the Beatitudes seem countercultural, the opposite of what the world says. The world sees meekness as a hindrance, allowing others to overrule us, but Jesus tells us that true meekness, submitting to God’s authority, brings true freedom.
